Software Engineer

Job Description

This position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our payment processing and validation products and services. The software engineer will be responsible for full life cycle application development.

Required Skills and Experience

3 to 5 years of experience developing server side applications through the whole product lifecycle. 2+ years experience with Java, n-tier architectures, multithreaded Java applications, OOA, and OOD. Good communication skills are required. A B.S. degree is required.

Strong skills in all of the following: Relational databases (SQL Server or Oracle), design patterns, concurrency, middleware (J2EE, CORBA, or .NET), XML, and security (SSL, data integrity, access control). You should have experience writing and tuning SQL statements. You should be comfortable working in a mixed Linux and Microsoft development environment.

Preferred skills: Experience with payment processing, billing, validation, authorization, reporting, and customer management applications. Familiar with the following tools and applications: Apache, Tomcat, Hibernate, Eclipse, Ant, Maven, JUnit, Struts, and Velocity.

User Experience Designer

Job Description

In this position, the User Experience Designer will guide and optimize the consumer payment experience for successful conversions of paid transactions in social networking, gaming, micro-payment, mobile and online digital content applications.

Responsibilities

The UI/UX Designer will define and communicate user experience needs by creating detailed and effective user interface specifications for use by both engineering and marketing teams. These specifications include information architecture documents, screen lists, user task flows, use cases, clickable prototypes and detailed individual screen wire frames, and mock-ups.

This person will also support marketing and sales efforts with use case mock-ups and demo ware, as well as help with design efforts for marketing materials, demonstrations and web site simulations of user experience.

  • Work with creative and product teams to create high quality user experience and interfaces for complex applications and web sites.
  • Create standard information architecture documentation including wireframes, sitemaps, user flows, user scenarios, functional specifications, navigation schemas, and clickable prototypes.
  • Develop user personas, scenarios of use, task analysis, interaction models, and experience briefs.
  • Create mock-ups and functional prototypes.
  • Plan and conduct usability evaluations and usability tests.
  • Ensure all user experience programs are measurable and tied to analytics framework.

Skills

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • BS/BA Interactive Media- or Graphic Design (or equivalent) or in Human/Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Science,
  • 5+ years related work experience
  • Must have online portfolio demonstrating relevant work UI/UX work for mobile and web (user flows, interaction diagrams, wireframes, page mockups)
  • Working knowledge of rapid prototyping tools such as Axure RP Pro or similar
  • Consult with clients about goals and propose UX solutions and strategies that match their needs
  • Good understanding of User Centered Design processes and techniques as well as usability principles.
  • Lead/Attend meetings to capture necessary information
  • Research characteristics and conduct user analysis
  • Analyze, develop and refine user tasks/processes
  • Collaborate with core teams to develop and publish wireframes
  • Be an expert on competitive landscape and complementary products/experiences and bring new ideas to team
  • Help drive and improve the tools and processes
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously are required
  • A passion for making complex things simple
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with rapid prototype and iterations
  • A clean visual design sense
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Proven client management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • XHTML/CSS, JavaScript development skills helpful.
